I am Kelly John, a young make adult, the hero of my own story. I was born and raised in the Philippines. I was left by my dad when I was 9 years, till then my mama raised me with all her might standing as my father and mother. Having no financial stability, I decided to cut off from school and continue living in my own simple ways. Days, months, years, I worked as hard as I could. Until a year come when I realized, education will lead me to a better future. She unravels one of her favorite sweaters, with small golden glitter woven into the wool threads, she pulls apart the yarn and makes a big pile of wool, placing it into a shoebox for her friend to return to its nest to keep warm. on Christmas day the wool was gone and she followed a path of pieces of wool that had dropped on the snow to a tree where she found her raven friend in a tree surrounded by the glittery wool. in the spring a flock of ravens all bring small gifts to the back porch for the girl.

Another time, she helped a trapped bird untangle its wing from a vine, earning the gratitude of the forest creatures. Finally, they reached a clearing where a giant tree stood, its leaves glowing like fireflies. At the base of the tree was a pool of crystal-clear water. "This is the heart of the forest," Arlo said. "It grants wisdom and strength to those who respect its magic." Lina touched the water, and it shimmered. She didn’t make a wish but instead thanked the forest for its beauty and adventure. The tree glowed brighter, as if acknowledging her gratitude. As the sun began to set, Arlo led them back to the forest edge. When they are feeling overwhelmed by big emotions they should tell an adult they need a break, how we can help them or what is making them feel that way. We want to help them understand their feeling so that they will be able to learn to self-regulate. We encourage deep breathing, breaks, walks, alone time and telling adults how they feel.
