1. John Jr and Yuēhàn was learning about the different wars that helped shape America. They came across the Mexican American War and looked into it a bit more. John Jr showed Yuēhàn how to look stuff up on the internet. 2. John Jr discovered The Mexican–American War,, was an invasion of Mexico by the United States Army from 1846 to 1848. It followed the 1845 American annexation of Texas, which Mexico still considered its territory because it refused to recognize the Treaties of Velasco, signed by President Antonio López de Santa Anna after he was captured by the Texian Army during the 1836 Texas Revolution. The Republic of Texas was de facto an independent country, but most of its Anglo-American citizens who had moved from the United States to Texas after 1822 wanted to be annexed by the United States. 3. John Jr started to explain to Yuēhàn the key battles of the Mexican American War. Battle of Monterrey The first major battle of the war, which took place in 1846. Mexican forces were able to repel the first few attacks by U.S. forces, but eventually surrendered. Battle of Buena Vista A turning point in the war, as Santa Anna's decision to attack Taylor prevented him from reinforcing Vera Cruz. Battle of Cerro Gordo The First and Second Tennessee Infantry regiments distinguished themselves in this battle, which was the first of a series of American victories that led to the capture of Mexico City. Battle of Chapultepec A decisive battle in 1847, where troops led by Gen. Winfield Scott overwhelmed a group of cadets studying at the military academy in the castle. Battle of Palo Alto The first major engagement of the war, which took place on May 8, 1846. The American army was able to defeat the Mexican army, despite the Mexican army being much larger, due to their superior weapons and training. 4. John Jr and Yuēhàn found out Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo ended the Mexican War and annexed a large amount of territory to California.

Miko the Meerkat and Lou the lizard live in the hot and dry Kalahari Desert. Miko the Meerkat and Lou the Lizard in the vast Kalahari Desert. Miko and Lou are best friends and do everything together! Miko is a bright, lively and friendly meerkat. He loves popping and looking out of burrows to explore the Kalahari. Miko likes moving from place to place and can’t stay still! Lou is a clever lizard; she loves to imagine the stars in the sky so much that she sometimes forgets to listen in class. Miko and Lou are different from their friends because they both have ADHD Miko struggled to stay still in class. He was always digging burrows and often got distracted during his How to Spot a Predator class. Lou also struggled in class. She couldn’t focus on her Sun Safety class because she was easily distracted by the clouds in the sky and often forgot to take down her homework.After visiting Dr Wild the Wildebeest, Miko and Lou learnt to do things that would help them to manage their ADHD. Although Miko and Lou struggled in class, their ADHD is now an advantage!Miko became the captain of the sand surfing team and had the fastest record in the desert! Miko was also top of his insect tracking class and created the first ever pair of insect spy goggles that could see different insect tracks and tell you what type of insect you are looking at!Lou enjoyed stargazing so much that she was top of the class for astronomy and could name every constellationEven though Miko and Lou had some tough times with their ADHD, they both learnt cool tricks to help them feel better and do their best. They have support from their parents, teachers and classmates. But the best part was that they could count on each other! Miko and Lou learnt how to handle their ADHD together and were always there to help each other when things got tough.

V malém městečku Slunečná Zátoka žila trojice přátel – Lily, Alex a Max. Jednoho slunného odpoledne objevili pod starým dubem zažloutlou mapu, která vypadala jako starobylá. "Vypadá to jako mapa k pokladu!" vykřikl Tomáš a děti se rozhodly ji prozkoumat. Prvním cílem byla opuštěná zahrada za muzeem. Když dorazili, našli tam starou truhlu plnou barevného skla, které se třpytilo jako drahokamy. "Jsou to jen staré kousky skla," zklamaně poznamenal Martin, ale Anička podotkla, jaké krásné barvy mají. Tato zkušenost je naučila, že i obyčejné věci mohou mít skrytou krásu. Následně zamířili na vrch nad městem, kde objevili vzácné rostliny a motýly. Děti se rozhodly o motýly pečovat a nosily jim každý den kousky ovoce. Učily se, jak je důležité chránit přírodu a vážit si jejího bohatství. Posledním bodem na mapě byl starý maják u moře. Cesta byla náročná, ale děti se navzájem podporovaly. Když konečně dorazily, našly uvnitř majáku knížku pohádek a starých příběhů města. Tato kniha je inspirovala k výměně svých vlastních příběhů a dobrodružství. Při návratu domů, v záři zapadajícího slunce, si uvědomily, že největším pokladem není sklo ani motýli, ale přátelství, které si vybudovaly. Naučily se, jak je důležité spolupracovat a sdílet zážitky. Kouzelná mapa je zavedla na tajná místa ve městě, ale především jim ukázala poklady jejich srdcí. Lily manage to stay still on bed for radiotherapy. Lily eventually become the person to encourage other children
