The woman who'd owned it had gotten too old, to care for the flowers and bushes she'd planted, and the apples that grew were too much to handle. She needed someone who would pull all of the weeds, pick the ripe apples, and tidy the yard; well, what was the problem? That didn't sound hard! There was just one other thing the old woman needed: someone who would treat the creaky, quaint cottage the way it truly deserved to be treated! Ang tunay na liwanag ay galing sa kabutihang loob at pagtulong sa iba,” paliwanag ng alitaptap. Isang araw, habang naglalakad si Ella sa kalsada, nakita niyang may batang lalaki na nahulog at nadapa. Mabilis siyang lumapit at tinulungan ang bata. “Salamat, Ella!” sabi ng bata habang tumayo. Habang naglalakad sila papunta sa kanilang mga bahay, napansin ni Ella na para bang may mga alitaptap na nagsimula ulit magliyab sa paligid nila, mas maliwanag kaysa dati. “Napansin mo ba iyon? Ang liwanag ng kabutihang ginawa natin ay parang liwanag ng mga alitaptap.” Mula noon, natutunan ni Ella na hindi kailangang malaki ang tulong upang magbigay liwanag sa iba.
